Spring courses - introduction
A very warm welcome to your new ‘blended learning’ Welsh course.
Your course combines tutor-led distance learning over Zoom, Skype or similar technology, with independent online study. It’s a 30-hour course, lasting 10 weeks.
How does the course work?
Each week, you’ll be asked to complete one unit of online study (which should take roughly one hour to complete) in readiness for your two-hour distance learning class.
You'll receive a link to your online study unit via email. Your tutor will also receive an update when you’ve completed each unit.
At the end of each unit, you can take a short quiz to check you’ve understood everything. If you have any questions, just ask your tutor in class.
What level is the course?
This new ‘blended learning’ course has been designed for beginners and is an Entry/Mynediad level course. Welsh courses are also available at other learning levels.
What are the course dates?
You’ll be assigned your first online study unit on 5 May. Morning courses will be assigned their second online study unit on 12 May; evening courses will receive it on 14 May, and then weekly until the end of the course. The course finishes w/c 20 July.
From the end of May onwards, you’ll be able to access your online units via the ‘My Learning’ page. You’ll just need to create an account first, and then login when you need to use this page. You can create an account today – it just takes a few minutes to set up.
There are lots of free digital resources you can use to support your learning. A free e-book to complement the course will be available shortly; you can also buy a hard copy of the Mynediad/Entry level course book for £10 (South Wales edition and North Wales edition).
