With the Eisteddfod y Garreg Las on the horizon, we caught up with Tomos, Chair of this year’s learners’ village, Maes D, to learn more about the Eisteddfod and the local area.

Have you enjoyed being the Chair of Maes D?

Yes, I've really enjoyed working with the team to organise Maes D, and I'm looking forward to welcoming learners to Llantwd, near Cardigan.

What can we expect at Maes D this year?

There will be opportunities to enjoy a chat and a cuppa, as well as performances from some of Wales' best artists, including Vrï, Candelas, Bob Delyn a'r Ebillion, Lo-Fi Jones, Morgan Elwy, Aleighcia Scott and Taff Rapids. Where’s your favourite place in Pembrokeshire?

My favourite place in Pembrokeshire is Porthmynawyd beach. You can't get there by car, so you have to walk along the coastal path.

What advice would you give to learners visiting the Eisteddfod?

Come and join us at Maes D for a chat and a free cuppa. We've got lots of fun activities suitable for learners at Entry, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

What’s your favourite word from the local dialect?

My favourite word is ‘jinglarins’, which means ‘bling’.
