Diolch to Learn Welsh Pembrokeshire for sharing this story, and best of luck to Parti Cae Blodau at the Eisteddfod!
There is a lot of buzz all over the Garreg Las area as everyone prepares for the National Eisteddfod at the beginning of August this year.
Laura, Megan, Liv, Olivia and Ros have just finished studying the Foundation 2 course at the Bloomfield Centre, Narberth. When they heard that the Eisteddfod was coming to the area they were determined to participate in some way. After seeing the list of Maes D competitions they decided to form a 'Parti Cae Blodau' to compete in the vocal group competition.
"I really like folk music especially Mari Mathais and I learn a lot by listening to her songs, so we decided to sing folk on the Maes D stage," said Ros.
"I'm very excited to attend and perform at the Eisteddfod for the first time. We've been practicing for weeks,” said Liv.
"I'm expecting a baby in August so hopefully I'll be able to perform with a big bump at the Eisteddfod or maybe the baby will come before the Eisteddfod,” said Megan.
"I'm looking forward to competing this year, the maes is very local to me. I hope the sun will be shining in Llantwd all week, especially on Thursday!" said Laura.
'Parti Cae Blodau' and many other learners will compete in Maes D on Thursday the 6th of August at the Eisteddfod y Garreg Las. Come and support and enjoy socialising with other learners.
