Q&As - online taster course

I have completed the employer registration form for the online course. How do the staff register on the course?

When we receive your registration form, we will register the employers name and you will receive a link to the course with joining instructions. You will be responsible for distributing the link and joining instructions to your staff.

Do we need to know the number of staff that want to register on the course before we complete the employer registration form?

This is not essential, but it would provide us with useful information.

I am a registered employer; how can I track staff progress?

We can provide the employer with details of staff who have registered along with their progress. Simply e-mail and we will gather the information for you.

You will also receive an e-mail when your staff have completed the course. This information will go to the contact name on the registration form for the course.

What version of Internet Explorer do I need to support full functionality of the online course?

You will need Internet Explorer (IE) 10 or higher to support all modules and activities. You can download the most recent version of IE free of charge to your PC/laptop here.


Some activities aren’t working in some of the modules. What could be the reason for this?

You need to make sure that you are using the most recent version of your browser to support these activities.

Our resources work on most browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. If you are using Internet Explorer then please make sure that you are using version 10 or higher. Using anything lower than this version will result in our modules not working properly.

I have forgotten my password.

If you have forgotten your password, click on the ‘Forgotten Password’ button which is found in the log in page and then follow the instructions. Please click the green ‘Login’ which is located at the top of the screen to find the ‘Forgotten Password’ link.

You need to make sure your e-mail address is valid, and you have authorised the e-mail

Is my online course progress tracked?

Yes, you will be able to see your progress and start the online course where you last finished.

I’m having problems with hearing the sound on the online course.

You will need a speaker on your computer/laptop. If you don’t have a speaker, you can follow the course on your phone or tablet. Remember to put your headphones on.

If you have sound facilities, please check your computer settings, and try again.

The "back to the Menu" button doesn’t work.

If this doesn’t work, try pressing ‘x’ on the window to close the activity.

I have completed the 10 hour online course, but I haven’t received a certificate and a congratulation pack.

 This should reach you by email. Check all files in your Inbox, including your junk/Spam folders. If you are using an e-mail account ending with ', or, please make sure you check your ‘Focused ‘ and ‘Other’ inboxes.
