The National Centre for Learning Welsh is a national hub for research into the teaching and learning of Welsh, coordinating, commissioning, and sharing research that supports good practice and innovation within the sector.
Research Committee
The Research Committee of the National Centre for Learning Welsh provides professional, independent expertise and advice to help guide the Centre’s strategic direction and research activities.
The Committee supports the Centre by ensuring that strategic and operational decisions are based on strong research evidence, innovation, inclusivity, and impact.
Membership
The Committee consists of a combination of external members and Centre staff. The external members bring a wide range of academic and professional expertise in the fields of language learning and teaching, second language acquisition, language planning, educational research, and data analysis. This includes experience in research on learner motivation, the development of confidence and fluency, the social use of language, and the factors that help learners move from formal learning to using Welsh in their everyday lives.
