The Financial Contingency Fund
Do you need financial help with learning Welsh?
Support is available through the Financial Contingency Fund.
To be eligible, you need to:
- be enrolled in a Learning Welsh course with one of the Providers of the National Centre for Learning Welsh,
- be 16 years of age or older on 31 August 2024,
- be a settled, legal, UK resident for at least 3 years; or meet the conditions of residence in the Learner Eligibility Guide for post-16 funding (details in the policy on the website),
- confirm that it would be difficult to access your studies without support from the Fund due to financial considerations being a barrier.
It's possible to receive assistance with costs such as
- childcare
- examination fees
- resources (e.g. books, equipment)
- travel and parking costs
*It is not possible to claim for course fees

Summer Course Accommodation Financial Support
Following last year's pilot offering financial support for summer course accommodation costs, we will be offering financial support again this year.
