What is a Privacy Notice?
This privacy notice explains how the National Centre for Learning Welsh (“the Centre”) uses your personal information.
What information do we use?
Your personal details: your name, gender, ethnicity, address, date of birth, email address
Health information: any health related issues or learning disabilities
Course information: whether you have completed a course previously and your performance on the course
How will the Centre use your information?
We will use your personal information to:
Enrol you on to a course and allocate you to a course provider;
Provide support during your time on the course and thereafter (where necessary);
Monitor the completion and progression on the course;
Report on attendance and how the course is going;
Share information with you about other courses.
Where do we collect your information from?
Information you give to the Centre - The Centre will collect information directly from you when you contact the Centre or when you enrol via the Registration Form on to one of the Courses.
Information from resources that you complete online
Information the Centre receives from the course provider.
Information the Centre receives from other sources such as your course tutor.
Who will we share the information with?
The Centre and the course providers are funded by Welsh Government. In order to allocate you to a specific course provider, ensure that the courses are run effectively, provide feedback on uptake of courses and to report on how the funding is being used, we may share your personal data.
The Centre may share your personal information with:
Course providers;
Welsh Government;
WJEC for the purpose of entering examinations;
Employers for purposes relating to the Cymraeg Gwaith scheme;
Regulatory authorities, courts and government agencies to comply with legal orders, legal or regulatory requirements and government requests;
Our legal and other professional advisers; and/or
Third parties who provide IT services or similar.
How do we keep your information safe?
We store your data in our secure IT systems. Your personal data can only be accessed by individuals who need to have access for the purposes outlined above.
Can we correct any information?
Yes, if you think any information we hold for you is incorrect, please let us know and we will correct it.
Can you have a copy of your information?
Yes, you can make a ‘data subject access request’ which enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
How long will we keep your information?
The Centre will only retain your personal information for the time period that you are a student on the course and for 6 years after completion of that course.
