A word of welcome from Dona Lewis, Chief Executive, National Centre for Learning Welsh

Helo!

As the new term gathers pace, I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to all of you – both new and returning learners. Everyone in the Learn Welsh sector is committed to supporting you on your language journey, providing you with opportunities to learn, use and enjoy your Welsh.

Language learning and acquisition experts

The work of the National Centre has evolved, and we now offer a wide range of high-quality courses, in the community, virtually, and online. There are innovative schemes for specific sectors, too, including Health and Social Care and Sport, as well as a provision for young people and families.

All courses and resources have been carefully developed by the Centre’s language learning and acquisition experts. Our courses are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the ‘CEFR’, providing you with a clear pathway to developing your Welsh language skills.

Using your Welsh

As well as our courses, there are many opportunities for you to use your Welsh in your day-to-day lives. There are countless resources available, including interactive quizzes, the Amdani book series and Learn Welsh YouTube videos, as well as BBC Radio Cymru, S4C television programmes, and more. Follow the next link for further information: Learn Welsh resources | Learn Welsh.

Many events and activities are also available through the medium of Welsh. Why not join a reading club or the Siarad scheme? You can find more information by following the next link: Use your Welsh | Learn Welsh.

Passion

The passion and expertise of our staff and tutors provide our learners with a truly enriching experience, which is a source of pride for us. Every learner's language journey is unique, and staff across the Learn Welsh sector are here to guide, inspire and support you.

Pob lwc gyda’r dysgu – good luck with the learning!
