Ciao! Colleen ag Owain

A new series has started on S4C called Ciao! Colleen ag Owain. 

The series is presented by Colleen Ramsey and Owain Wyn Evans – they travel around Italy together. 

Owain likes Italian fashion and architecture, while Colleen likes the country and the food, after living there for two and a half years when her husband, Aaron Ramsey, played football for Juventus. 

Here, we talk to Colleen about the programme and much more… 

What was it like making the series? 
I was a little nervous at first, but I was in good hands with Owain.  We had a lot of fun and got to know each other well. 

Do you have a favourite place in Italy? 
My favourite place in Italy is Sardinia, but I also like Lucca and Turin because I lived there with my family. 

What did you like about living in Italy? 
Obviously, I love the food, but the people were kind and the weather is beautiful. 

Which do you prefer, pizza or pasta? 
Pizza!  There’s nothing better than fresh, warm Italian pizza. 

How did you find learning Italian? 
Learning the grammar is easy – but you need confidence to speak it day to day with other people. 

Do you enjoy learning languages? 
Yes, I’d like to learn more languages. 

Any advice for people who want to learn a new language? 
Don’t worry about making mistakes.  You need to practise by speaking as much as possible. 

Who does the cooking in your house? 
Me – just me! 

What projects do you have coming up in 2026? 
Lots of cooking!  I would like to do more podcasts and television work.
