Helen Prosser, Director of Strategy at the National Centre for Learning Welsh, said:
"Bobi Jones was well known as a poet and literary critic, but his contribution to Welsh for Adults is equally as important. As a young lecturer he spent time in Quebec, Canada, where he studied methods of teaching French. He put those principles into action in Wales and strongly influenced a generation of Welsh teachers. He will be remembered as one of the founder members of CYD (Cymdeithas y Dysgwyr – Welsh Learners’ Society) and its aim of bringing fluent speakers and learners together, in social settings. The sector is indebted to him for his work and his vision, and we extend our sympathy to Beti, Lowri, Rhodri and the whole family.”
