Learn Welsh Statistics

The National Centre for Learning Welsh Data
  • The Learn Welsh programme data is managed by the National Centre for Learning Welsh.

  • A central database collates information on all learners when they register online to follow a course. This information includes details about the learner (e.g. name, address, date of birth) and the course (e.g. level, location, learning intensity).

  • The Centre started publishing data for the academic year 2017–2018.

  • The published data contains information about all the work of the National Centre for Learning Welsh. This includes:

    • Learn Welsh programmes – community-based, face-to-face and virtual

    • Learn Welsh schemes for workplaces

    • Learn Welsh schemes for families

    • Learn Welsh schemes for young people

  • The 2024–25 data also includes a different type of provision for the Centre: confidence-raising courses for Welsh speakers who lack confidence in using the language.

  • The data also includes a range of learning methods, including face-to-face learning, virtual learning, blended learning and self-study.
