Health and Care Speaking Scheme

Practise your Welsh. Support colleagues. Improve patient care.
What is the Speaking Support Scheme?

The scheme brings together:

 - Welsh learners who want more opportunities to use Welsh at work in their clinical setting

 - Confident Welsh speakers who are willing to support a colleague through regular conversation.

You don't need to be a teacher or language tutor. As a Speaking Supporter, your role is simply to provide a relaxed, supportive environment where your partner can practise speaking Welsh.

Joining is easy:

Register online.

We'll match you with a suitable partner.

Meet virtually every 2–4 weeks.

Spend around one hour each month chatting together in Welsh.

The scheme is flexible and designed to fit around busy working lives.
