Welsh learners in Gwent learn more about Tryweryn

Welsh learners in Gwent will have an opportunity to learn more about the history of Tryweryn, north Wales, at a special event at Coleg Gwent’s Pontypool campus tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 September) at 10.30am.

Author and actor, Gareth Thomas, will tell the story of Tryweryn and the village of Capel Celyn during the session, organised by Learn Welsh Gwent - run by Coleg Gwent on behalf of the National Centre for Learning Welsh - and Newport’s Welsh language festival, Gŵyl Newydd.

A glossary will be available to help learners and there will also be an opportunity to recreate the iconic ‘Cofiwch Dryweryn’ (Remember Tryweryn) mural.

For more information about the session, please email helen.young@coleggwent.ac.uk or telephone 01495 333710.
