Winning image in Ar Lafar 2020 photography competition
Many congratulations to Carole Gowers from Caernarfon, who has won the Ar Lafar 2020 photography competition with her fantastic photograph of Llyn Nantlle Uchaf (above).
Carole moved to Wales in October 2016 and started learning Welsh part-time soon after. Carole learns with Learn Welsh North West, and continues to attend her class, over Skype, for one hour each week.
Carole took the photograph with her Canon 550D camera, a gift from her late father. Carole loves being outside take photos. She is interested in nature, and especially enjoys taking photos of the glorious views in her area and close photography of birds, insects and plants.
The competition was held jointly with The National Library of Wales and was judged by the photographer, Nick Treharne, who has an exhibition at the Library which can be viewed online.
